RoHS and WEEE Statement

IOGEAR prioritizes safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance. Our commitment extends to endeavoring to adhere to the following directives:
1. RoHS Directive (EU) with regard to the products that we secure from our primary manufacturer:

  • Such products conform to the European Union RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU-RoHS2 & 2015/863/EU RoHS3), which aims to reduce the amount of hazardous chemicals used in electronics manufacture. The restricted substances include lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium, and polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and four specified phthalates.
  • Such products also conform to (a) Directive (2009/251/EC) regarding Dimethyl Fumarate (DMF), (b) Directive (94/62/EC) regarding Packaging and Packaging Waste (PPWD), (c) Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 regarding Perfluoro octane sulfonic acid, its salts and perfluoro octane sulfonyl fluoride (PFOS), and (d) Directive REACH REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 regarding supplies of articles that contain relevance SVHC.
We further endeavor to assure that products secured from our other suppliers similarly conform to these directives.

    2. WEEE Directive (EU):

    • We actively support the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive (2012/19/EU), which aims to encourage the design of electronic products with environmentally-safe recycling and recovery in mind
    • Look for the “Wheelie Bin” mark on our products, indicating their WEEE compliance. This symbol indicates that the equipment carrying this mark must NOT be thrown into general waste but should be collected separately and properly recycled under local regulations.
    • We encourage responsible disposal and recycling of electronic equipment at the end of its life cycle.
    • Our commitment extends beyond product design to include education and awareness about proper disposal practices.

    3. Environmental Stewardship:
    • IOGEAR is proud to state that the factories of our principal supplier have been RoHS and WEEE ready since 2005, and we look forward to making our customers’ environment safe and healthy for years to come.
    • Beyond regulatory requirements, we strive to minimize our environmental impact.
    • Our design teams prioritize energy efficiency, recyclability, and sustainable materials.
    • We collaborate with certified recycling partners to ensure proper handling of electronic waste.
    • Our commitment extends to reducing packaging waste and promoting eco-friendly practices.
